Brain Health Counseling

At Hillcrest Family Services, the compassion and extensive experience of our counseling team means we provide a broad range of brain health services and treat a wide array of conditions for individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds.

Please complete the online New Patient Forms.  After it is completed and submitted, a Hillcrest staff member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. A discounted/sliding fee schedule is available.

Deborah Bahe

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Education:
BSN, MSN, DNP

Specializations:
Deborah received her BSN, MSN, DNP, and post-doctorate from the University of Iowa’s College of Nursing in Iowa City. For 15 years, she worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics (UIHC) Child Health Specialty Clinic (CHSC) in Oelwein and Decorah. On the side, she worked a few years for Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health (NEIBH) in Oelwein and taught classes at Clarkson College in Omaha. Children, behaviors, and learning are Deborah's strong-suit, but she enjoys working with all ages and concerns. She views her calling as “helping others to be all they can be”.

Tassie Crews

Therapist

Specializations:
Tassie provides therapy services for clients age 12 and up. She believes in whole person treatment and meeting the client where they are at and individualizes each therapeutic approach to what best fits the client. Tassie has experience working with Active-Duty Armed Forces, Veterans, Criminal Justice-involved individuals, LGBTQIA+, Treatment Court, and Department of Human Services involvement. She works to create and hold a safe space for all that come into treatment services.

Michael Davis

Michael provides individual and couple's therapy services for people ages 14 and up. He utilizes a wide variety of therapy modalities (geared to the particular needs and issues of the individual person) including CBT, Trauma Informed Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Laurey Easland

Laurey enjoys providing individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She utilizes traditional talk therapy as well as creative arts therapy and play therapy when appropriate. Laurey strives to provide a welcoming environment, emphasizing a strengths based approach.

Kelsey Edwards

Specializations:
Kelsey works with a variety of different clients including children from ages 14 on up and adults of all ages providing individual, couples and family therapy. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Person Centered Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. Kelsey’s areas of focus include depression, anxiety, crisis intervention, gender identity related issues, grief/loss, and interpersonal conflicts. Her therapeutic approach uses goal-oriented discussion, promotes inclusion, and encourages the client to feel in control of their mental health journey.

Jennifer Erickson

Specializations:
Jennifer provides individual and family therapy services to all age groups. Jennifer provides therapy from a strengths-based approach designed towards the empowerment of the individual to overcome barriers to well-being and to enhance their overall quality of life. Additionally, she specializes in working with individuals who have co-occurring addictions and mental health concerns.

Angela Hedrick

Angela provides counseling for adolescents and adults working through depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, grief/loss, anger management and trauma-related issues employing a person-centered and strength-based approach. Other areas of focus include crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment.

Matthew provides individual therapy services for individuals ages 16 years and older. His areas of focus include anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma and abuse. Matthew prefers to individualize sessions focusing on each client's strengths to reach their full potential.

Katherine provides individual therapy for people ages 12 and up, and her areas of focus include addressing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and trauma. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches including Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Exercises. Katherine’s approach is to tailor each appointment to the individual and to collaborate on a therapeutic program that will enable each client to lead a life centered around their personal core values and making goal-oriented choices.

Tina Rice

Intake Specialist

Specializations:
Tina provides clinical intake services for Hillcrest Family Services and is also part of the team at A New Day Clinic, where they help with suicide risk assessment for walk-in clients. She provides individual therapy to a small caseload of clients aged 4 and up in the early evening hours. Tina uses a strengths-based, non-judgmental, multi-modal approach to therapy integrating therapies like Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Christian-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She utilizes her skills and experience to collaborate with and encourage clients through a variety of life challenges including trauma and abuse, anxiety, life transitions and adjustments, identity exploration, codependency/relational issues, depression, and crisis stabilization therapy.

Elizabeth Voss

Specializations:
Beth provides client-centered, strength-based therapy to adolescents and adults in addressing depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, assertive communication, grief and adjustment, and trauma and abuse. Her background and approach is derived from: Motivational Interviewing (MI), Client Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
